• AI Processing: When you use AI-powered features and after you have explicitly granted consent, information you provide (workout logs, body metrics, nutrition entries, photos you upload, messages to the AI Coach, and connected health/wearable data) may be transmitted to third-party AI providers, including OpenAI and Anthropic, to generate responses. 6. Push Notifications

With your permission, we may send push notifications for:

• Medication dose reminders

You can disable notifications at any time in your device settings or within the app.

7. Children's Privacy

Our Service is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us.

8. Health Information Disclaimer

PepCoach.AI is a health and fitness tracking tool, NOT a medical device or medical advice service. The information provided through our Service is for informational purposes only and should not replace professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Always consult with a qualified healthcare provider before starting or modifying any medication regimen.

9. Third-Party Services

Our Service may integrate with third-party services:

• AI Providers: OpenAI (primary, for AI coaching, vision, and analysis features) and Anthropic (Claude, for select AI coaching features). Both are used only after you grant explicit AI processing consent (see Section 13).
• Analytics: Usage analytics to improve the app
• Cloud Services: Secure data storage

Each third-party service has its own privacy policy governing their use of your data.

10. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. Upon account deletion:

• Personal data is deleted within 30 days
• Anonymized, aggregated data may be retained for analytics
• Some data may be retained as required by law

11. International Users

If you access our Service from outside the United States, your data may be transferred to and processed in the United States, where our servers are located. By using our Service, you consent to this transfer.

12. California Privacy Rights (CCPA)

California residents have additional rights under the CCPA, including the right to know what personal information is collected, request deletion, and opt-out of the sale of personal information. We do not sell personal information.

13. AI-Powered Features & Third-Party Data Processing

PepCoach uses OpenAI (OpenAI, L.L.C.) and Anthropic (Anthropic PBC, "Claude") as AI service providers to power the following features:

• Smart Coach — AI chat assistant for health coaching
• Body Scan Analysis — AI-powered body composition estimation from photos
• Injury Scan Analysis — Visual assessment of injuries from uploaded photos
• Nutrition Photo Scanning — Food identification and macro estimation from meal photos
• Form Check — Exercise form analysis from uploaded videos or photos
• Custom Workout Video Analysis — AI analysis of workout demonstration videos

Data Sent to AI Providers

When you use AI-powered features, the following data may be transmitted to OpenAI and/or Anthropic for processing:

• Photos and videos you upload (body scans, food images, injury photos, form checks)
• Messages and questions you send to the AI Coach
• Workout activity (sessions, sets, reps, weights, durations)
• Body metrics (weight, body composition, measurements)
• Nutrition entries you log (foods, calories, macros)
• Health and wearable data you connect (e.g., Apple Health, Hevy)
• Your health profile (goals, medications you choose to share, track selections) to provide personalized responses

How OpenAI Handles Your Data

• Data is processed via OpenAI's API per their API Data Usage Policy
• Your data is NOT used to train OpenAI's AI models
• Data may be retained by OpenAI for up to 30 days for abuse monitoring, then deleted
• OpenAI acts as a data processor on our behalf

How Anthropic Handles Your Data

• Data is processed via Anthropic's API per their Commercial Terms and Privacy Policy
• Your data is NOT used to train Anthropic's AI models when accessed through their API
• Data may be retained by Anthropic for a limited period for abuse monitoring per their data retention policy, then deleted
• Anthropic acts as a data processor on our behalf

Your Consent

Before using any AI-powered feature for the first time, you will be asked to provide explicit consent to this data processing. You may decline, in which case AI-powered features will not be available, but all other app features will continue to work normally. You can revoke consent at any time in Settings → AI Data Processing.

14. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.
